Mountain challenges have been a part of free@last life for all its history
2023 has a big one in store!
Join and support the free@last team as they aim to summit the world’s highest active volcano, Ojos del Salado in Chile.
In 2019, 8 trepid explorers took on our biggest challenge to date and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, raising money for some great causes, including free@last.
We took the Lemosho route, taking 8 days to complete, and had many, many challenges to overcome, but we all reached the summit in elation! The next mountain challenge must be even bigger, so we are climbing Ojos Del Salado, the world’s highest LIVE volcano!
Situated deep in the Chilean region of Altiplano, the driest spot on the planet, and standing at 6893 metres, this is a long and gruelling challenge, and the highest non Alpine climb in the world.
A team of amazing fundraisers will climb Ojos del Salado, the highest live volcano in the world that is situated on the Chilean/Argentian border.
Standing at over 7000m, across three peaks it will be an almighty challenge for good causes.
All funds raised from the climb will go towards buying a plot of land that will be used for outdoor trips, residentials, family holidays and much more to allow the children and community of Nechells, Birmingham to explore the outdoors beyond the city.
The team will embark on their journey to Chile on 21st January 2023 and return to the UK on 6th February.
